Thebasicsuspensiondesign,whichcontributedmuchtotheMk1'ssuccess,wascarriedoverlargelyunchangedfromitspredecessor.Alongwitha10percentstifferbodyshell,accordingtoFordthisoffersabetterride,butcriticsclaimedthecarlackedthepreciseandpoisedhandlingoftheMk1.ThesamebodystylesastheMk1Focuswereoffered,thoughthesedandidnotappearuntilmid-2005.Atwo-doorcoupé-cabrioletwitharetractablehardtopwasaddedtotheline-upin2007.
