因此，動畫一開始安排滅星者（StarDestroyer）劃過星空，熟悉的影像與配樂，即為了滿足星戰粉絲所設計；但5名全新的反抗軍小隊成員，則是為了6至14歲兒童與青少年、以及沒看過星戰電影的新觀眾量身打造。

劇情概要編輯 故事從《星際大戰三部曲：西斯大帝的復仇》的14年後、《星際大戰四部曲：曙光乍現》的5年前開始，講述一群反抗軍英勇對抗邪惡帝國的故事。

第66號密令執行後，全銀河的絕地武士被大舉屠殺，在這期間銀河系被黑暗勢力籠罩，由西斯大帝率領的銀河帝國實施高壓統治。

反抗軍只能先占領一顆遙遠的星球，並在此整軍待發。

他們必須求生存，還要面對源源不絕的帝國風暴兵與鈦戰機的襲擊。

雖然無厘頭但充滿冒險精神的反抗軍，作為英雄必須展現各自獨特的天賦與技能，並帶領反抗帝國軍，幫助星球上的居民和平生活。

在第四季最終集，在解放洛塔的行動中犧牲自己，讓擁有超空間飛行能力的宇宙巨鯨帶走連同自己和索龍元帥在內的滅星者驅逐艦，從此下落不明。
