To reverse the journal posting of a general ledger entry · Choose the · Select the entry that you want to reverse, and then choose the Reverse Transaction action. Ifyouhavemadeanincorrectnegativequantityposting,suchasapurchaseorderwiththewrongnumberofitemsandposteditasreceivedbutnotinvoiced,thenyoucanundotheposting. Ifyouhavemadeanincorrectpositivequantityposting,suchasapurchasereturnorderwiththewrongnumberofitemsandposteditasshippedbutnotinvoiced,thenyoucanundotheposting. Toreversethejournalpostingofageneralledgerentry YoucanreverseentriesfromallLedgerEntrieswindows.ThefollowingprocedureisbasedintheGeneralLedgerEntrieswindow. Choosetheicon,enterGeneralLedgerEntries,andthenchoosetherelatedlink. Selecttheentrythatyouwanttoreverse,andthenchoosetheReverseTransactionaction.Notethatismustoriginatefromajournalposting. IntheReverseTransactionEntrieswindow,selecttherelevantentry,andthenchoosetheReverseaction. ChoosetheYesbuttonontheconfirmationmessage. Toundoaquantitypostingonapostedpurchasereceipt Choosetheicon,enterPostedPurchaseReceipts,andthenchoosetherelatedlink. Openthepostedreceiptthatyouwanttoundo. Selectthelineorlinesthatyouwanttoundo. ChooseUndoReceiptaction. Acorrectivelineisinsertedundertheselectedreceiptline. Ifthequantitywasreceivedinawarehousereceipt,thenacorrectivelineisinsertedinthepostedwarehousereceipt. TheQuantityReceivedandQty.Rcd.NotInvoicedfieldsontherelatedpurchaseorderaresettozero. Toundoandthenredoaquantitypostingonapostedreturnshipment Choosetheicon,enterPostedReturnShipments,andthenchoosetherelatedlink. Openthepostedreturnshipmentthatyouwanttoundo. Selectthelineorlinesyouwanttoundo. ChoosetheUndoReturnShipmentaction. Acorrectivelineisinsertedintheposteddocument,andtheReturnQty.ShippedandReturnShpd.NotInvd.fieldsonthereturnorderaresettozero. Nowgobacktothepurchasereturnordertoredotheposting. InthePostedReturnShipmentwindow,takeanoteofthenumberintheReturnOrderNo.field. Choosetheicon,enterPurchaseReturnOrders,andthenselecttherelatedlink. Openthereturnorderinquestion,andthenchoosetheReopenaction. CorrecttheentryintheQuantityfieldandpostthepurchasereturnorderagain. Topostanegativeentry YoucanusetheCorrectionfieldtopostanegativedebitinsteadofacredit,ortopostanegativecreditinsteadofadebitonanaccount.Tomeetlegalrequirements,thisfieldisvisiblebydefaultinalljournals.TheDebitAmountandCreditAmountfieldsincludeboththeoriginalentry,andthecorrectedentry.Thesefieldshavenoeffectontheaccountbalance. Choosetheicon,enterGeneralJournals,andthenchoosetherelatedlink IntheBatchNamefield,selecttherequiredbatchname. Enterinformationintotherelevantfields.
