HeroregenerationintheHomeVillageusesan"extralife"system:whenfullyregenerated,theBarbarianKinghastwo"lifebars",eachwithhealthequaltohismaximumhitpoints.ThefirstlifebarisrepresentedbythebarvisiblenexttotheKing'slevel,withthesecond(the"extralife")representedbyaheartplacedattheendofthefirstlifebar,witha"+1"whenitisfull. TheBarbarianKinghasveryhighhealthbutmoderatedamagesoheisbestusedasatank.Deployhimfirsttodistractthedefensesthendeploylowerhealthunits(liketheArcherQueen)todothedamage.However,atlowerlevels,likeTownHall7-9youmightwanthiminsidethebasesinceyourheroesaregooddamagers.Anotherwaytousehimisforfunneling.Heisveryclearwheretofunnelandhisability(IronFist)makesthefunnelveryeasy. Startingatlevel5,theBarbarianKingobtainsanabilitycalledIronFistwhichcanbeusedonthebattlefield.ItpartiallyhealshimbyasetamountperleveloftheIronFist,summonsahordeofadditionalBarbarians,andgrantstheBarbarianKingandhissummonedBarbariansincreaseddamageandspeed.ThisdoesnotstackwiththeRageSpellanddoesnotaffectanyothertroops,includingotherBarbariansbelongingtotheregulararmy.Thisabilitygetsmorepowerfuleveryfifthlevel. Iftheabilityisunlocked,oncetheBarbarianKingisdeployed,hisiconinthetroopdeploymentwindowbecomestheactivationmethodforIronFist.SimplyclickonhisiconagainandIronFistwillbeactivated. IftheabilityhasnotbeenusedbeforetheBarbarianKingisabouttobedefeated,itwill,bydefaultautomaticallyactivate.However,thisfeaturecanbetoggledoffinthesettings(byturningoff"AutomaticallyuseHeroAbilitiesonKO"). TheBarbarianKingsummonsBarbariansequaltothelevelofyourBarbariansresearchedinyourLaboratory(e.g.ifyoucantrainlevel5Barbarians,theBarbarianKingwillsummonlevel5Barbarians).TheseBarbariansarenotaffectedbythePowerPotion. Strategy Offensive ThefourHomeVillageheroesservedifferentrolesinraids.TheBarbarianKingisthetankspecialist,whiletheArcherQueenisthedamagespecialist,theGrandWardenisthesupportspecialistandtheRoyalChampionisthedefensespecialist. TheBarbarianKingcanoftenbeusedtocreatefunnels;iftherearenogapsinnearbyWalls,hewillstayoutsidetheWallsandclearoutbuildingsplacedoutside.Asheisabletotankalotofdamage,hecanusedtoclearareascoveredbyhigh-DPSdefenses,likeaTeslaorX-Bowfarm(wheremultipleofthesamedefensetypeisgroupedtoprovideconcentrateddamage).However,airtroopsmaybebettersuitedforthefunnelifanti-airDPSislackinginsuchareas,andoneshouldstillbewaryofsingle-targetInfernoTowers,whichcanquicklydefeathimandendthefunnel. AcommonwaytousetheBarbarianKingisasatank,todistractthedefensestoallowtroopswithlowhitpointstosurvive.Forexample,youmayusehimwiththeArcherQueen;hetanksthedamageandtheArcherQueeninflictsthedamage.Thisisacommonuseandstartingphasefortheheroesinairattacks,wheretheyservelittlepurposewiththemainarmy.TheGrandWardencanalsobeshieldedbytheBarbarianKingatthesametimebecauseofhisLifeAura. TheBarbarianKingcanbeeasilyswarmedbyagroupofArchersorBarbarians,asheonlyattacksonetargetatatimeandhasasomewhatslowattackspeedagainstswarms. AstheIronFistabilityrecoverssomehealth,youshouldletyourBarbarianKingtakesomedamagebeforeactivatingthisabilitytomaximizetherecoveredhealthprovidedbyactivatingtheability.TheexceptionisattheendofasuccessfulbattlewheretheBarbarianKingsurviveswithtakingverylittleornodamage,becauseiftheabilityisn'tactivatedafterbattlehewillautomaticallyactivateit,recoveringhealth.TheIronFistabilitycanbeusedtospeeduptheprocessofclearingthebase. Enable"AutomaticallyuseHeroAbilitiesonKO"inthesettings,asthereisnorealdownsidetodoingso;hisheroabilityenhanceshissurvivabilityandboostshisdamageoutput. SincetheBarbarianKingsummonsBarbariansfromhisability,itisgoodtoupgradeyourBarbariansintheLaboratorysothatthesummonedBarbariansbecomestrongertodestroybuildingsquicker. Defensive Thoughheisverystrongonoffense,heonlyattacksonetargetatatimeondefensewhichmakeshimeasytokillwithmultipleunits,soprotecthimwithsplash-damagingdefenses. ItisagoodideatoplacetheAltarinthemiddleofagroupofstoragesorotherareasthatyouwishtoprotect,suchashewillpatrolaroundthem. TheBarbarianKingistheonlyherothatcan'ttargetaerialunits.Despitethis,hecanstillstallairunitsthatdonothaveapreferredtargetsuchasDragons,becausesuchairunitswilltargethimeventhoughheposesnothreattothem. UnliketroopsintheClanCastle,theBarbarianKingcannotbeluredtotheedgeofthemapandthendestroyedoutofrangeofthedefenses(unlesshisaltarisneartheedge).Ifhistargetmovesoutofhispatrolarea,hewillretreatandengageanotherenemyinsidehispatrolarea.Ifnoenemiesremaininhispatrolarea,hewillresumepatrolling.
