Home/ Gyms&Battle TeamGORocketLeaders&Giovanni LastUpdated:66d TeamGORocketLeaders—Arlo,Cliff,andSierra—arepowerfulTrainersyoucanencounterbycraftingaRocketRadartolocatetheirHideouts.DefeatingTeamGORocketLeadersgivesyouachancetoencounterrareShadowPokémonandcompleteSpecialResearchtofightTeamGORocket’sbossGiovanni. Note:ThisfeatureisonlyavailabletoTrainerswhoareLevel8andabove.FindingTeamGORocketLeadersEachtimeyouBattleanddefeataTeamGORocketGrunt,they’lldropaMysteriousComponent.Collect6MysteriousComponentstocraftaRocketRadar:NotethatthatifyouhaveaRocketRadarinyourItemBagoryourItemBagisfull,youwon'tbeabletocollectMysteriousComponentsafterdefeatingTeamGORocketGrunts.YoucantrackyourprogresstowardscompletingaRocketRadarbycheckinghowmanyMysteriousComponentsareinyourBag.AfterearningyourfirstRocketRadar,RocketRadarswillbeavailableforpurchasefromthein-gameShopusingPokéCoins. TheRocketRadarrevealsthelocationsofnearbyLeaderHideouts.LeaderHideoutslookjustlikeregularPokéStopsuntilyou’reinrange,atwhichpointyou’llseeaTeamGORocketLeaderstandingnexttotheassociatedPokéStop.YoucanequipaRocketRadarimmediatelyaftercraftingoneorequipandunequipitfromyourBag.Onceequipped,youcantaptheRocketRadarbuttonbelowthecompassontheMapViewtoseeLeaderHideoutslocations. Note:LeaderswillnotappearatPokéStopsunlessyouhaveaRocketRadarequipped.WhenyourbestPokémonarehealedupandreadytofight,taptheLeadertoBattlethem,justasyou’dchallengeaGrunt.Butbecareful:LeadersaremorepowerfulthanGruntsandmaybedifficulttodefeat.Ifyoulose,youcanre-engageinBattleuntiltheLeaderHideoutdisappearsfromthemap. DefeataTeamGORocketLeadertoreceivea StrangeEgg,andwalk12kmtohatchit.Notethatyou’llneedspaceinyourEgginventory,PokémonStorage,andItemBagbeforeyourbattlewithSierra,Cliff,orArloinordertoreceiveaStrangeEgg.UpondefeatingaLeader,yourRocketRadarwillbeconsumed,soyou’llneedtocollect6moreMysteriousComponentsorpurchaseanewRocketRadarfromtheShoptoencountermoreLeaders.DefeatingaLeaderalsoallowsyoutoencounteroneoftheirrareShadowPokémon,whichalsohasachancetobeaShinyPokémon.Note:YourRocketRadarisonlyconsumedwhenyoudefeataLeader,soyoucankeepchallengingLeadersuntilyouwinaBattle. FindingGiovanniToencounterTeamGORocket’sbossGiovanni,you’llfirstneedtocompleteSpecialResearchtasks,whichinvolvedefeatingGrunts,defeatingLeaders,andcompletingotherTeamGORocket-relatedobjectives. Note:GiovanniSpecialResearchisonlyassignedtoTrainerswho’vealreadycompletedATroublingSituationSpecialResearch.You’llearnaSuperRocketRadarasarewardforcompletingoneoftheresearchsteps.JustlikearegularRocketRadar,aSuperRocketRadarcanbeequippedandunequippedfromyourBag. TheSuperRocketRadardoesn’timmediatelyleadyoutoGiovanni;itdisplayslocationsofbothdecoyGruntsdisguisedasGiovanniandGiovanni’sactualHideout.You’llneedtoapproacheachPokéStopandinvestigateyourselftofindwhereGiovanni’shiding. Whenyou’vefoundGiovanni,BattleanddefeathimtoencounterarareandpowerfulShadowPokémon.Note:TrainerscanreceiveGiovanniSpecialResearchoncepercalendarmonth.Forexample,ifyoucompleteyourSeptemberGiovanniSpecialResearchinmid-October,you’llreceivenewSpecialResearchshortlyaftercompletingtheSeptemberResearch.IfyoucompletetheSeptemberResearchinmid-September,you’llneedtowaituntilmidnightonOctober1st(localtime)toreceivetheResearchagain.  Relatedarticles
