MostofthesepeoplearenotfromtheU.S.soIwasunfamiliarwiththemortheirtacticsatthetime.IhavesincelearnedthatthisgroupisassociatedwithGrahamLinehan(@Glinner)andtheyhatefollowtranspeople-especiallycelebrities,journalists,charitiesandpoliticians.Theywordsearchpostswith"transwomen","cis"and"TERF"inthemandtheycoordinate/tageachotherinconversationstoharasstranswomenandalliesALLDAY,EVERYDAY.Theyaresowellknownfortheirabusivetactics,thatarticleshavebeenwrittenaboutthemandthepolicehavenowbeeninvolvedintheUK,yetTwitterdoesn'ttakethisintoaccountorusethisas"context"whendecidingwhotheaggressorsareintheseconversations.  Iwassuspendedforcallingthem"bigots"and"TERFs"whiletheywerebeingabusivetomultipletranswomenandalliesandpurposelymisgenderingpeopleandcallingthem"perverts"and"fetishists"andgoadingthemintorespondingsothattheycouldthenmassreportthem.OneofthemalsoassumedthatIwasatranswomanbecauseofmysupportanddecidedthisgaveherlicensetopostsomeprettyvilecommentsinmymentions-completelyunprovokedaswell.Ireportedallofthecommentsthatweredirectedatmeandothers,andIgotreportsbackonALLOFTHEMfor"hatefulconduct"and"abuse"yetnothinghappenedtothem,butTwitterfeltthatmequotetweetingthem/callingthemoutontheirwordsandcallingthem"TERFs"and"bigots"is"abusive"andabannableoffenseforme."TERF"ISNOTASLUR.Itisanacronym-onethatthesepeopleopenlyembrace(someintheirhandlesorintheirbios)unlesstheyareweaponizingTwitter'sreportingsystemagainstthepeoplethattheyareharassing-andTwitterisselectivelyenforcingtheuseofit(seemydropboxforproofofothersnotbeingpunishedorgettingverymildpunishmentscomparedtowhatIreceived,whiletheircommentsinself-defenseweremuchmoreaggressivethanminewas).Ihavealsosavedconversationstheyhadwitheachotherwhentheyrealizedthattheterms"TERF"and"cis"arereportableintheUKwhichiswhytheyareabletogetpeoplepunishediftheyreportit,andIalsosavedscreenshotsofthemcelebratingwhentheirmassreportingtacticsworked.IliveintheU.S.,nottheUK,soifthisisthecase,itshouldbeuptoTwittertoletusknowthatthesearereportablewordsandeitherblockingitfromviewthereorallowingustodeletethecommentratherthanjustpunishingpeopleinothercountriesfornotadheringtothestandardsofonewedon'tlivein. Ihaveappealedandmyappealshavenotonlybeenignored,butTwitterisalsonotclosingthemoutsoIcannotputinanyothers.ItkeepstellingmethatIneedtowaitformycurrentopencase/appealtobeprocessedbeforeIcanputinanyotherappeals,butithasnowbeenover2months.Ialsowrotelettersandincludedscreenshotstoeveryofficeinthecountry,andmanyofyouhavealsowrittenpostsonmybehalfaskingformyreinstatementwhichsofarhasalsobeenignored.IhaveliterallybeentryingeverythingbecauseIdon'tfeeltheyshouldkeepsilencingus. IhaverepeatedlyreachedouttoTwitteronmultipleoccasionswhenIwasreceivingsexist,anti-immigrant,ageist,andracistcomments.IhavereachedouttoTwitterwhenIwasreceivingunsolicitedpicturesandrapeordeaththreats.IhavereachedouttoTwitterwhenpeoplewerereportingmeorthreateningtoreportmeasafakeaccount,"bot"orfalselyaccusingmeofoperatingmultipleaccounts.IamNOTanonymousandhavemultiplepicturesandvideosofmyselfandlinkstopodcaststhatIhavebeenon,aswellaslinkstomylocalDSAchapter(thatIamtheco-chairof)allonmytimeline.AllofmyinformationhasalwaysbeenaccurateanduptodateonmyTwitteraccount.IhavetriedtodoeverythingaccordingtoToS,andIamstillbeingpunishedwhichisbeyondfrustrating. Twitterhasbrieflysuspendedmebeforefor"operatingmultipleaccounts"(Idon'thaveanyotheraccounts)orfor"suspiciousactivity"(alwayswhenpeoplesaidtheywerereportingmeforbeinga"bot"or"spam")andanothertimeforquotetweetingsomeonesendingMErepeatedracistdeaththreats(Twittertoldmethatthispersondidnothingwrongandtoldmeto"lookatthecontext".Seethescreenshots).Eachtime,theyeitherreinstatedmewithnoexplanationorwithanapology,becauseIdidNOTHINGwrong.Ihavebeenatargetformassreportersandharassers-especiallyoverthepastyearwhenTwitterkeptchangingtheirpolicies,whichTwitterhasrefusedtohelpwhenIreachedout,andinsteadhasrepeatedlypunishedMEfordefendingmyselforevenfordoingwhattheysuggestandblocking,whichonlyenragesthetrollsmore.IhavescreenshotsofpeopleopenlysayingthattheycreatednewpagesjusttoharassmeonbecausetheywereupsetthatIblockedthemandthatI"wasn'tgettingawaythateasy"andthatthey"wouldjustkeepcomingback".Iwasonalargelydistributed"hitlist"aimedatleftistsandcreatedbytrollsthatwereencouragingpeopletotrollandmassreportpeopleonthislist.ItriedtobringthisuptoTwitter.Twitterwouldtellmethatallofthesethingsweren'tviolationsandthatIneededto"lookatcontext". It'sunfairthatmarginalizedpeopleareconstantlybeingrunoffofthissitewithnoabilitytospeakwithalivepersonortodefendourselvesandthatenforcementofpoliciesareselectivesowecan'tevenknowwhenwearefollowingthemorbreakingthemandwhatwordswilltriggeraToSviolation,becauseagain-itisselectivelyapplied/enforced.Twitteralsoasksusto"lookatcontext"whenwearebeingblatantlyabusedoreventhreatenedandarereachingoutforhelp,buttheydon'tdothesamewhentheyarequicktosuspendusorbanusfromusingtheirservices.Manyofusarenotabusersandharassers.WearetheonesBEINGabusedandharassed,andTwitterisactivelyassistinginourfurthermarginalizationbysilencingusorsidingwithourabuserswhoarejustbetteratweaponizingthereportingsystem,whilewejustwanttobeleftalone. Istartedtodocument*some*ofthisjustoverayearagowhenIsawthatthiswouldbeaconstantproblem.Ihavedonemultiplethreadsonitonmytimelinewithmanyofmyfollowerssharingsimilarstories,andIstartedkeepingscreenshotsasproof,becauseIknewthatonedayIwouldneedthem.Sadly,thatdayhasobviouslyarrived,butIhopethatmyworkwillbehelpfulingettingmyaccountreinstatedandthepolicieschangedatsomepointdownthelinesothatthisstopshappening.
